It is a sorry tale of wise and unwise er virgins - Oxford took on water in training and fitted splashboards, and Cambridge didnt and lost. oops. Oxford like the sportsmen they were, boasted little because they felt they had won by default.
One of the greatest of the Great British Cack-ups - Like University Cack-up, correctly named. One team cheated in the final and so the others got the cup by default and their reaction was less - whooppee ! and more - ----so what?
