My niece and step-niece played for England, the latter was a pro with Jogger's team - personally I find watching it like paint drying - I'm not a fan of basketball either. Hockey, well that's far more entertaining and on that front, a niece who made the GB wider crew as well as playing cricket for Northern England and remarkable, as she is profoundly deaf.
However, England have gone one better than their previous two world-cups....better than the American women's soccer team who have experienced the igonomy of not making the 1/4s for the first time at that world cup.
They need a miracle now and that’s not going to happen. Just as well we’re going to the pub for dinner tonight. An opportunity to drown my sorrows. :o)
Second in the world is not so bad and Australia are certainly worthy winners. A strong team. One could be forgiven for thinking there are ten players rather than seven in their team. They’re everywhere! Great play! Well done girls!
A great effort from the girls. Aus were just too good for them today. But that was only today. There will be other games. It's all part of the process, and learning from each performance.
