I own a small plot of land housing garaging and the neighbour has asked if I might sell him a small amount (around 30ft x 15ft) so he can extend his garden slightly. I am happy to do this, but wonder if I am going to end up with a big fee from Land Registry to re-draw the boundary on my title and likewise his. I am only planning on charging him about 3.5k for the land, but it won't be worth my while if the associated fees to amend with Land Registry are prohibitive and we have to get solicitors/surveyors involved. I have looked on the Land Registry website but can't really see anything that answers this question. Thank you.

HM Land Registry fees - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

When we did this we had the land officially measured and marked with stakes by a surveyor and took photos. We shared the Land Registry and surveyor fees

im really confused.  if its something your neighbour wants to buy, get them to cover all the fees.

just like selling something on ebay - you'd get the buyer to cover postage

What Bednobs said  ^^

Whenever I've bought small areas for whatever reason, I offered to pay both solicitors' fees and Land Registry fees.

If the buyer wants it enough, it's the simplest way to go.
