question:if you pot a red AND a colour in the same shot when you are going for a red (red first, colour next) does it count?

You can pot more than 1 red at once though.

I watched The Gods of Snooker a few days back. It was odd that they completely overlooked Joe Johnson's demolition of Steve Davis at the Crucible in 1986.

13:15 18-12, hardly a demolition. That was done in the first round in 1982 when Knowles won 10-1, now THAT is a demolition.

I'm not as keen as I used to be about snooker. I've seen John Spencer and Jackie Rae in exhibitions a few times and if you get a chance to see one, it's well worth it. Of course both of those players are long gone, but the exhibitions are really fun things.

John Virgo is the same age as me and I saw him play in the Manchester Catholic League for a club in Salford called KSC, Knights of St Columba. I was present when he made the world record break for an amateur, aged 18, back in the sixties. He scored 121, which was a record then, but long since been beaten. His shows are very funny. And skilfull too.

What is the minimum score that a player can achieve in order to win a frame?

This assumes that all balls are eventually potted (i.e. a player does not forfeit the frame). Warning: the answer involves a highly theoretical event which is absolutely never likely to happen in practice.

Just a guess, but probably nil, where the frame is awarded against someone who plays 3 or more shots from a snooker and misses, so the frame is lost. ??

If a player potted a yellow with each of the 15 reds there would only be 27 points left on the table for his opponent.

22. Opponent pots 15 reds without colours plus yellow and green. Pot the rest.

15 reds without colours + yellow & green = 20, leaving 20 on the table. You need to pot brown to be sure of win. = 24 points total.

judge: Just off the top without really delving into it. 14-13. Player A pots all 15 reds at once but goes in off so player B gets 4 so now it's 0-4, they then share the colours so player a gets yellow, pink and black (15). Player B gets green brown and blue (12) so the final result is 15-16 to player B.
