You know when you haven't seen certain relatives for a while and you get those little remarks , oh not married yet, still in the same job,little things that get to you but you can't go mad about. Does anybody else think that sometimes you have to bite your tongue at these events?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Weddings in my wife's family are always a bit frought for us as my first wife was her second cousin ( my elder kids mother) and even if she doesn't turn up, the whole sorry tale of how I married both of them gets rehashed every time by someone.If she does show up there's nervous shuffling because my present wife has issues with the way she treated our eldest son and my first wife usually totally ignores her own kids so it's just great either way.
Weddings in my family usually just end up in a damned good drunken brawl, tame by comparison:)
I quite like weddings - it's the very boring bit inbetween the ceremony & the disco I don't like! I could quite easily curl up in a ball & nod off!
I'm also an extrovert & always end up having a good dance (or knees up) with the rest of the lively ones!
(Except when the likes of 'Come on Eileen', 'YMCA' or the 'Birdie Song' come on - Aaaarrrrgggghhhh - I soon scarper back to my seat or the loo)!
