dog trying to eat wasps and bees!

help i have a 4 mnth old puppy who keeps chasing wasps and bees in the grass.im very concerned he will eat one and it will sting his throat.i keep him on a lead and watch him but im afraid he may find one i havent seen.he knows the basics of the word leave and comes away but what if he does get one in hs mouth?can dogs be stung like humans or will his throat swell and couse his to choke to death if swallowd?any help of ideas please,im terrified! xx

Dogs can be stung, I have piriton at hand incase it happens to my dogs, they have both been stung in the mouth, it swells up like a fat lip, but they haven't done it again.

What usually happens is, the bee or wasp will sting the dog inside its mouth, or on its tongue. As a reflex the dog will either open its mouth and release the insect, or crush and swallow it.

The chances of a wasp or bee getting into the throat without stinging first are very small, so very very small chance, if any, of any problems. If it happened with any frrrequency, the media would have got hold of the story by now.

Either way, he won't do it again!
