Parking at the Millennium Stadium Cardiff

In September some friends and I are going to see a rugby game at the Cardiff Millennium Stadium.

We are planning to stay outside of Cardiff in a Travel Lodge about an hour away. My question is what is the parking in Cardiff like on Rugby Days? Or would you recommend that we get the train into Cardiff? The match is in the evening so I don't think we would be out of the grounds before 10pm so would the trains still be running if this is what you advise. I would appreciate any advice as I have not been to Cardiff before.
