A Couple with 6 bodyguards!

Ok, so I've just got back from having a meal with my family which happened to include one of the strangest events I think I've witnessed! We were just parking the car when two shiny black cars swung into the car park, four big men dressed in black suits and wearing ear-pieces got out of one car, stood at the four corners of the other car, then two more got out of the first car and escorted a very average looking couple into the restaurant! Two of the men stayed at the door of the restaurant, two stayed with the couple, and the other two seemed to patrol the premises. It was very slick but it all seemed a bit excessive since there was barely anybody there. Does anybody have any idea what all this could have been about? This all took place in the heart of Lancashire, on the outskirts of a little town. Not even high profile celebrities have six bodyguards! They didn't look like royalty, I was thinking maybe they could be on some sort of witness protection, or perhaps it was some kind of bodyguard training exercise as Princess Anne is visting the area next week. Anyone got any other ideas??

Sounds like someone with delusions of grandeur,most likely apremiership footballer with money to burn. Was it near the border with Cheshire? Not my part of Lancs am sure or i would have course been out there throwing flowers in their path.LOL

we do have some of the richest people in the UK in lancashire you know, Trevor Hemmings for instance, though he wouldn;t necessarily feel he needed so much protection.

It is odd that you did not recognise them, or that the restaurant did not boast about their exclusive clients.

Were they possibly doing a prank for TV and your reaction was filmed for a spoof show?
