The attacker dives for the line.

He grounds the ball short of the line, but (in one movement) slides along until the ball bumps against the front of the goalpost.

Has he scored a Try?

Yup, it's a try, nothing done wrong there at all.

Right, that's all my rugby questions used up.
It's also part of the laws that the momentum can take a player over. So if it's pi55ing down the player can dive yards out and slide over and that counts.
or he can be blown over the line by a high wind, it all counts.
