Who do you suggest as new England coach. I reckon Graham Gooch, who is held in high esteem, and wouldn't stand for any nonsense. As for the captaincy, Strauss is the obvious choice,. but I think Cook is a better choice for the long term.
Whatever, England have shot themselves in the foot AGAIN. Just as we thought the Aussies might struggle this summer.
Peter Moores got the bullet because he can't work with KP again, assuming the KP continues with the England team.
I heard Alec Stewart say on Sky Sports News yesterday that, unlike Football, a Cricket Captain is the one to get the bullet for poor performances and not the Coach (Manager). Todays Daily Star claims that the ECB allowed KP to say he'd resigned rather than the ECB claim he'd been "pushed before he jumped."
Very surprised to hear that Andrew Flintoff has been the main voice in the dressing room supporting Peter Moores. With Freddie and KP being such good mates it would have been reasonable to assume that Freddie would have sided with his captain. Half the dressing room backed Moores and half backed KP, so they get rid of both and Strauss and the dressing room accept whoever is in charge (temporary or permanent) and they set their sights on the tour to the Windies.
KP and coach have never seen eye to eye, and KP was getting a bit to big for his boots, it came to a head when KP wanted Michael Vaughn to be chosen to tour West Indies and Moores was against it, Vaughn wase'nt picked so KP said its Moors or me, so they both were sacked,
a cricket captain sacked for demanding the best possible coach? That would have taken some of the underperformers in the team out of their comfort zones; no wonder they turned against him. Too many England players prrefer a quiet life to hard graft and don't come anywhere near Pietersen's talent.
