Federer all-time greatest? Not now
After another big loss to Nadal - who I don't think Federer will ever beat again - Federer remains 1 Grand Slam title short of Pete Sampras's record. He may win a couple more, but a couple of players including our own Andy Murray now have a psychlogical hold over Federer whose moody look when playing them is like that of a hurt child. Truly great players recover from major defeats and return stronger. I can't see Federer doing that. His downfall began with loving his own image too much, like those ridiculous blazers at Wimbledon.

I love watching Federer more than any other player but if you look back to before he starting winning grand slams he did have behavioural problems. I still rank him up there and think that Rafa may only last another couple of years because of his physically demanding style of play. As for Murray I hope he does win a slam - he is ranked 4 in the world - Henman was once ranked at 4.
Much prefer the passionate players like Boris Becker, Andre Agassi, John McEnroe , Andy Murray, all the Argentine/South American players + all the Spanish players anyhow. Federer is still a great player yet pleased he did not equal Sampras as Sampras was much more of a gentleman than him anyhow( good friend to Tim Henman too). However, we must say Rafa was such a true champion- he overcome pain to beat the Fed (robotic)Express + showed true courage, fantastic style as well as true flair. Also, he showed amazing compassion/ empathy towards Roger Federer + he did not even express his full joy until Roger had left the court!! Shouted Vamos Rafa all the way + my joy was immense at Rafael's win !!! Hoping Murray will win a grand slam soon too as hugely patriotic!!! Hoping Rafa can continue for at least another 5 years at the top of the game as adore his playing + him as a person- truly special individual. The best man won yesterday. Like Andy Roddick- he is a top guy too + support this American. Mostly support Europeans yet will support characters like Andy Roddick too who is very lovely!! Rafa is a true champion.;-) Caray!! Wow!!What a final we were treated to in Melbourne!! Abrazos, Bea :-) Hugs :-)
Fed is a true genius of the game. He was beaten by the sheer will and physicality of Nadal. I think Fed has at least one more slam in him. If you look at Sampras, he didn't win his final title until in his thirties and at least a couple of years from his previous victories. Fed's last slam, erm September. and he's still only 27.

CT Things are very interesting at the top of the Men's game for sure. Yet, Rafa was the victor as he was the better player + must say the victory went to the better individual too :-) Nadal is a true genius of the game, also. Nadal is the luckiest of them all as he has a fantastic game, a fantastic attitude + fantastic looks :-) Never supported Fed as he is a robot. Fantastic shots, for sure. Yet, during any match he rarely shows any emotion like Bjorn Bjorg. He is quite ugly to look at, too. As for his nasal deep voice- this is not pleasant to listen to, either. He rarely gives any respect to fellow players either- Fed Express. Rafa is the better individual + the better player + Rafa is much younger than Roger so hopefully will outplay him too!!! Other players like- Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic + ever Spanish and Argentine player :-) Warm wishes, Bea :-)
