Wales can't beat England
31 Answers
So ... Martin Johnson has put Joe Worsley back into the Back Row.
He's a good tackler, and more than a match for that Welsh Open Side guy ... Martyn Williams??
Danny Cipriani is left out. The Fly Halfs are Andy Goode, and Toby Flood on the bench.
Mike Tindall is back at Centre.
Martin Johnson's thinking is obviously ...
... never mind attacking flair ... I want an England team who are really hard to beat.
And that is why Wales can't beat England this weekend ...
... and I'm having a BIG bet on England.
I hope the bookie has his cheque book ready for my payout.

Since the new Sports Section opened, I have tried really hard ...
1. To make sure that the men don't claim it for themselves, and
2. To not sound like an air-headed bimbo.
I haven't been to a live rugby match since I split up with my ex last Spring ... but, I've been reading all about the rugby, and I think I've got a reasonable grasp of it.
I read the explanations of the laws of the game in The Guardian.
When it's on the telly, we go and watch it in the pub with the blokes, and ...
... I think I can (sort of) hold my own when they talk about the game.

big bet should bring big money if England win. England looked short of ideas on attack last week; Wales had lots. But I think you're right, Johnson has decided to concentrate on defence. If he's lucky, Shane Williams will still be injured, because he can cut holes in any defence. Also, a lot will come down to goalkicking. If Jones misses as many as he did last week, and England don't, they could be in with a chance.
Still not putting a penny on England, though.

I know what you mean Susan ...
But I get more than my share of girl things.
When I go out, it's generally with my girlfriends.
You can only shop so much (although quite a lot).
Most of my holidays are "girls trips"
Etc.
But ... I love sports.
I have tried to post threads about my favourite sport (Lacrosse), and hockey, netball, etc. But they don't attract much response.
Somebody asked a technical question about Netball a few weeks ago. I gave the answer, and the thread just fizzled out.
So ... we're stuck with rugby, football and racing.
Football I do go to. I go to watch Brighton with a friend of mine (another girl, to whom I refer on AB as "Thing2") and we love it.

Jayne my love DON'T do it.
The Welsh pack will walk all over England and will get quick ball from the breakdown.
Haskell is a t1t of the first order and will either give away penalties, or get sin;binned or both.
Joe Worsley is a good CLUB player but never was and never will be a footballer.
Tindall, Noone, what diference does it make, they will never get quick ball.
Save yourself some money and bet on Wales winning by 15points.
You don't have to prove to me your knowledge of Rugby as you can hold your head up with the best of the lads.

I agree that some sport can be interesting to us women (as I am not a 'girl' anymore), and I quite like watching some footie on the television, along with snooker and tennis.
Not sure about you starting a thread about rugger though. If you was answering someones question it might not have attracted my attention so much maybe.
Glad you like girlie things too.

LOL JJ. England haven't been playing that well for a while whilst Wales seem to be gaining confidence. The squad still look inexperienced and they need to improve their skill in the lineout and kicking. Mind you I am half Welsh so I would say that, wouldn't I?
I would save your money for more girlie persuits LOL

Bill Bryson says lacrosse, taken from American Indians, is in fact evidence of early Scandinavian settlement of North America.
"Consider the matter of lacrosse, a game long popular with Indians across wide tracts of North America. Interestingly, the ruls of lacrosse are uncannily like those of a game played by the Vikings, including one feature - the use of paired team-mates, who may not be helped or impeded by other players - so unusual, in the words of one anthropologist, 'as to make the probability of independent origin vanishingly small'."
Must be the Viking blood in you. No wonder you don't spend all your time on handbags.

Sqad ... I don't bet to make money, I bet for fun.
I could never bet against a team I supported.
If I want to win money, I play BlackJack !! LOL
Su ... maybe you should never stop being a "girl" ... I'm 42, and I would hate it if I was too old to be a girl.
Crikey, Su ... why should the men have all the fun?
bj ... which rugby bet ... do you mean my winning treble? (yaayyy!)

jno ... if I posted a thread about handbags, I'd just get you all taking the pee ... so I'm not going to.
Look, I went to the sales in Regent Street after Christmas ... I got something for Momba at Aquascutum, a skirt for Thing1, and some shirts for Daddy at Austin Reed. Then we decided it was all too horrid, and dived into an Italian restaurant for the afternoon. So I didn't buy anything for me.
Some girls want stuff all the time. Others (like me) just don't fancy it when we get there. And I'd never post a thread about handbags ... !! ...
... (although I did post on a thread recently about how much I'd pay for a pair jeans).

nothing pathetic about the Battle of Hastings, Harold going for the double after thrashing the Danes up north, and only falling to a late attack by the visiting team.. A gallant English failure.
As I recall, Harold's daughter fled to the continent and married the Grand Duke of Kiev and their son founded Moscow. But that's probably enough useless info for one night.
