Aintree Grand National-who do you fancy?
With the Final Declaration stage coming up on Thursday morning , the field will be whittled down to 40 Starters fromthe 73 horses still remaining, who is your tip to win the race ??
Only one horse carrying over 11.00 Stone has won in the last 20 Years and that was Hedgehunter in 2005.
Will Comply or Die win it again this Year carrying over 11.00 Stone. He's worth an E/W Bet !

He did me a favour last year and I think he has the right credentials to follow up and become the first back-to-back winner since Red Rum. A good warm-up run at Cheltenham, loves Aintree and, on his day, a match for anything, even at the weights.
I'M ON!!
I'M ON!!
Hate to be a "spoil sport", guys, but there has been virtually no value in Grand National odds for many a year.
Unless you're prepared to take ante post odds and run the risk of your horse(s) being withdrawn, thereby losing your dosh without a run, the bookies only rip the punters off on the day when the odds for so many horses are whittled down to ridiculous levels.
You normally find about at least a dozen horses at less than 20-1, which is absolutely crazy in a race where it should be 10-1 just to get round ! It's commonplace for half a dozen to be in single figure odds - where's the value there ?
You always find punters lumping like lemmings onto horses, most of which have never seen Aintree before, let alone tried to jump any of the 30 fences.
I wish all of you the best of luck but I know where my money will be on Saturday at the end of the National - still in MY pocket instead of some fat cat bookie's!

PARAFFIN, whilst I agree with you regarding the Bookmakers (You never hear of any of them going bust!),if you never took a gamble on anything in life, whether it be Job Applications, National Lottery, Football Pools, Women etc, I would find life rather tedious. I'm an occasional Gambler not a Professional one and there are millions like myself who enjoy the occasional flutter!
I won on last years winner Comply or Die as did LESBLUE, but it was my first Grand National win since Red Rum!
Stick a Pin into the Racecard on Saturday PARAFFIN and put a 1 Win on it, he may romp it @ 50/1. You can then smile at your local Bookie!

Point taken! I wasn't really trying to be a killjoy - I realise that thousands upon thousands of people enjoy trying to find the winner - I used to be a punter myself, so I'm not without painful experience of the Sport of Kings !
The closest I come these days to a punt is a quid on the Lottery - still waiting to become a millionaire, though !
