One of my men friends said that if I owned one rugby dvd, it should be this one.

So ... I bought it.

So ... THAT try ... Gareth Edwards ...

... the pass from Quinnell to Edwards looked a bit forward to me.

Just wondered.

I said at the time that the last pass was clearly forward and there was a suspect one earlier in the move. Nothing has changed my mind about it since.

I didn't think anything at the time, because I was 6.

But the more I watch it, the more it looks like ...

Edwards is behind Quinnell when Quinnell passes the ball, but ...

... Quinnell passes it forwards and Edwards runs on to it.

It was a very jolly moment, and all that, but looks a bit dubious ...

... like England's dodgy goal in the 1966 World Cup Final.

Yes, SeaJay ... it was fab and jolly ...

But ...

Surely the greatest sporting moment of all time is the Haka, as performed about 5 minutes earlier ...

... it had me in stitches ... hilarious !!!!!!!

It's like watching your dad and his mates trying to do the Haka at the pub.

Do you know, I'd quite forgotten that. In those days it looked just a tad effete, didn't it. You wouldn't have been at all surprised if the Barbarians had done a bit of morris dancing in retaliation.

Times change. I can't believe that during the try clip there are at least two tackles, both high and on JPR, that would get you sin-binned these days.

And aren't they all tiny? John Pullin, the Barbarians hooker, England captain at the time was a mere stripling compared to the guys nowadays.

I suppose in those days, after the game, they all went back to their desk jobs.

Nowadays, they go off to the gym with their nutritionists and strength coaches.

Those 1970's haircuts are also something to behold ... and Phil Bennett's sideburns ... Whooaaahhh !!!

I'm not taking anything away from this game ...

... as the DVD box says, it was possibly the "greatest rugby match ever played" ...

But some aspects of it look very dated ... and very funny.

Ah, but JPR later produced a pair of sideburns that would have Paul Griffen, that kiwi who plays for Italy, as jealous as hell.

check out the Haka before that game, compared to today they look a bunch of not very coordinated bandits! Just search for "HAKA 73" on You Tube, hilarious!
