What has caused the drastic change in F1 results? If Mclaren and ferrari had a fast car last season why would they change it and how is that BraunGP are able to win most the races this season?

Brawn gave up on last years 'Honda' early in the season to concentrate on R&D for this year's car... whereas Ferrari and McLaren were concentrating on last years car - not the next season's offering - right up to the end of the season as they were both in with a chance of winning the Championship.

Brawn also interpreted the rules regarding the 'Rear Diffuser' slightly differently to the other teams, which gave them an early head start in the first half of this season... other teams are now catching up in that area... should be a good second half of the season...
Plus... BrawnGP have... Ross Brawn...
and red bull have adrian newey, which explains their fortune
Yes... and well done to Mark Webber... long overdue...

...and 'shut up' Rubens, you whinging @rse ;-)
which proves what I have allways said "Its the car that counts" there isnt much to choose between the drivers
The car 'and a decent strategist'...
its true these days, technology runs the sport, all of the drivers (even the ones at the back) are all excellent drivers, sadly the difference between cars makes them losers!

fuel stops are banned next year so the "strategists" will have to come up with more inventive ideas for the cars whilst they are full of fuel for the entire race.
But then F1 was - and still is - all about the technology...

Simple solution: reverse the grid.
great idea snags but how do you qualify? drive slowly?
But then surely you'd get people trying to go slow in qualifying as it would be beneficial to them

20 or so F1 cars doing their qualifying laps at 5mph wouldn't be much good to watch.
So 'sportsmanship' doesn't come into it? I guess not!!
did it ever?
no, sportsmanship is not allowed anymore, people get penalised if they try to do racing maneuvers
sportsmanship normally goes straight out the window the moment money is involved!
Or... identical cars... which is what the budget cap is 'kind of' aiming towards... i.e. levelling the field... technologically and financially...

But no one really wants that either... hence why many teams are threatening to set up their own rival Championship...
Identical cars has/is already done in A1 and in superleauge, and they are hardly being a hit.
Agreed... but how else will F1 ever be anything other than 'the team with the biggest budget' wins... esp. if the budget cap - in its current suggested form - remains as unpopular as it is...
'''the team with the biggest budget' wins''

Ahem.. not strictly true.... Toyota :-)
