Did anyone see - what I can only describe as a portly lady athelete in a round of one of the sprint races ?

What was all that about ?

I only glimpsed it briefly
What was her name and what country was she representing ?

She is a Samoan lady by the name of Savanah Sanitoa.

Her speciality is the shot put (hence her build) but she failed to qualify for the championships in that event and instead took the opportunity of a wild card to represent her country in the 100 metres..

She failed to qualify from her heat, finishing in 14.23 seconds. But remarkably she was not the slowest competitor in the event. That dubious honour went to Tioiti Katatu of Kiribati, who clocked 14.38 seconds.

By the way, Berti, is your middle name Wilberforce? Are you a member of the Drones Club? Do you have a harridan Aunt Agatha and friends Augustus (Gussie) Fink-Nottle, Hildebrand Tuppy Glossop. And does Jeeves still do your ironing?
That's not actually a bad 100m time for a woman of her stature... the All Blacks will be poaching her soon...

That is indeed correct

Dont forget that gal - stiffy - and by gentleman's gentleman - Reginald Jeeves - a man of infinite resource and sagacity .

Aaah - Aunt Agatha - ' Harridan ' is correct - slap on the button and leading by a length , in the final furlong .

She is also rumoured to eat broken glass and conduct human sacrifices by the light of the full moon .
