Valentino Rossi & Sports Personality Of The Year

Why has valentino rossi never been considered for a bbc sports personality award? Because to be fair i cannot think of anyone in the whole of world of sport in general with more personality than the doctor!

well he would only qualify for overseas personality of the year and whilst I do admire Rossi I can't see anyone beating Usain Bolt this year......

I won't watch it but I would be prepared to bet it will be Jensen Button or that Boxer "somebody" Haye who will win.

Rossi doesn't need it and probably wouldn't even know what it is. One fact about Rossi is that he has competed in something like 226 consecutive GP races. Bearing in mind how dangerous the sport is and even the best fall off occasionally this must be one of THE greatest sporting feats of all time.

What about 'Phil the Power Taylor' He is a great champion and continues to get overlooked. In my opinion this years awards will be a sham, thats why I wont be watching it. Jenson Button, who after 10/11 years gets lucky, and virtually 'crawled over the line', to win the championship. In my opinion it wasn't because he was good, but in the first half of the competition he had a car that had a distinct advantage over the others. And Jenson Button deserves to win the award, its just as bad as Chris Hoy winning it last year. Sports Personality of the Year has become a joke.

Have to say that we are championing for Ryan Giggs -we are Scottish dont support Man U but he has maintained a first team appearance apart from injury from the age of 19 to 38.That is no mean feat so we are behind him 100% -a true grafter and also a great ambassidour (sp? all to eff I know lol) for the sport.

the trouble is that motorcycling is not one of the "blue riband" sports and as such it's very unlikeley to get the main prize. I remember the year when Carl Fogarty had won the WSB title for the 3rd time and they gave it to Tiger Tim! Who never won owt. It's about time Phil The power was recognised too but hey ho.
