Cost to replace missing Sapphire?

Hi guys. Unfortunately I lost a 4-5 mm Ceylon Blue Sapphire out of my ring yesterday, and since I was in so many places prior to realising that it was missing, I don't really have a chance of finding it. Does anyone know how much it would cost to replace it? The claws actually look like they're still intact, if that helps. Thanks. x

If your near to London ...the take a trip to Hatton Garden , they have some gem shops.
Don't think it will cost to much ....
Might be covered on your house insurance.

My wife lost a diamond from her engagement ring about 9 years ago.
It was covered on the houe insurance.
But they insisted , i called the police station first and reported it missing/lost and got an incident number !!!!
Now that was an interesting call.

hi NoMercy.. is it covered by your household insurance? if you make a claim, bear this in mind.. my sister lost the diamond out of the engagement ring, but wasn't covered. they said if she'd lost the actual ring they would have paid out.

Thanks for that. I might be cheaper to just not claim on insurance. I did loose the centre diamond out of this ring a few years ago, but by some extraodinary stroke of luck, found it in the carpet a few days later and had it reset by the jewellers that he bought it from. They still charged me £245 to put it back in.

that is v v expensive!

I had a ring with small opals in it, and lost one stone. I had it replaced about 4 times before giving up. obviously the setting wasn't strong enough.

can you take it back to the same jewellers? stones shouldn't keep falling out. they may take some responsibility..

The Jewellers are in London, Sara. When I had to speak to the lady over the repair last time, she was very very nasty and thought I was implying that they'd done a shoddy job in the first place. I really don't want to go back to them if I can help it.
