1 . Why are team formations spoken of from back to front e.g. 4-4-2 which seems to be very defensive thinking . So whatever happened to 5-3-2 ? i.e. 5 forwards .
2 . Whereabouts is the "front of the net" ?

why can't Capello see it?

The old 5-3-2 formation hasnt been used in football for decades. Its a shame because football was more entertaining and many more goals were scored.
After England won the World Cup in 1966 with no wingers, everyone copied Alf Ramsey's tactics and football became more negative.
