Wasps

I understand that wasps are an important part of the enviroment, has anyone got any advice as to how i can keep them away, My neighbours have loads of fruit trees next door and i keep my bantams at the bottom of the garden, we have all of a sudden been swarmed by them, they are in the house, My dog actually showed me that there was a nest in the ferret coop a month ago we destroyed it as it had only just began building the nest, the wasps are getting in the chicken coop (not wasps nests) but i am really worried that the bantams are going to get stung to death, they are becoming a real problem, ive checked everywhere so there are no nests in my garden, but what can i do to deter them, i did do wasps (JAM) jars last year but never managed to kill many, if anyone can give me any advice with what wasps and wasp contril it would really put my mind at rest.

I have seen this year a suggestion that hanging up one or more fake wasp nests will deter them.
