In my opinion, the finest English batsman of recent years. A guy in his forties, who makes batting so wonderfully enjoyable to watch. Just a pity that (by all accounts) he was a bit of a scallywag in his younger days, I'm sure with more dedication he could have become one the all-time greats.
Not a question, I know, just an observation.
I have to say the most enjoyable batsman I ever saw was David Gower. he had a grace I have never seen matched yet. Mind you I dont watch cricket anymore
Well,he's not exactly a joy to watch if you are a Leicestershire supporter, though we did get him out fairly quickly this morning. Though I have one fond memory of us getting him out quickly in a one day match and him going off with a face like thunder and ( allegedly) thumping the dressing room door with his bat.
flicrat....I think I put the "mockers" on Ramps by posting the question when I did. My son was at Grace Road yesterday and told me how easy Ramprakash had made batting seem. What happens next? Out first ball next morning. Oh well.
