So as a result of the furore over Andy Gray, the FA have decided to pull the linesman off her fixture tonight.

The FA will probably think, if there's going to be such an outcry over every out of place comment, that it's not worth trying to introduce any female linesman ever again.

So well done, Sky TV ... by making all this fuss, you have snuffed out the best chance we had to achieve any sort of equality, and reclaimed football for the men.

Yes, fair in the context of his prominent, highly paid broadcasting job. What he may have said in private is another matter, but he "got catched" with his pants down, as it were? They had no option but to sack him - keeping him on would have suggested that his employers condoned his comments.

Exactly JJ. As far as I know she never made any complaint about it and actually said she was used to those sorts of comments from blokes. Now he has been sacked, the fans will blame her, despite the fact she did her job well. I will be surprised if we see her on the pitch again, which is a shame if she is good at her job.
