What`s the difference between Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and General Gadaffi?

Why does the UK Government and TV media etc seem to hate the Libyan regime while talk down the Bahrain problem.

A government official said this morning that the difference is "the Khalifa family have not waged war on their people"!
But surely he has?

the Bahrain leader is not slaughtering his own people whole sale. He's not using planes to carpet bomb civilians. Why do you love the Libyan regeme? Why is it whenever this sort of thing happens, anti British tw&ts spout total Bowlocks?

On first refelection you would think Cameron is doing what all politicians do...that is to rubbish the oppositions policies and decisions. The views on Blair sucking up to Gaddafi are well known but at the time maybe this was the right thing to do as he brought him in from the cold and his WMD were destroyed.

So now we have taken one step forward and two steps back. If Gaddafi remains in power he may get back to a pariah status and an enemy of the West. Cameron hasn't got the foresight to recognise this and all he is currently doing is to put the clock back 10 years for the peace process to start all over again.

It would have been better to clam his mouth shut. He is a danger to the free world..

R1Geezer, by asking why the Government and media seem to hate the Libyan regime doesn`t mean I love them or that i`m anti-British but when did being British mean that we have to pick fights with certain people while ignore other despots, critisize other world leaders for killing their own civilians then we move in and kill them as well or be proud that we are being hated world wide for interfering in other peoples business.
Africa is a big place where many nations could step in and do something, why us.

One last thing, the Khalifa family are slaughtering the protesters though they haven`t the decency to let the wounded into hospital for fear of the rising number of reported injuries being inflicted. (as reported by the BBC today) Am I being pro-British for pointing that out?

For a start : Khalifa didn't kill our police officer, he didn't kill hundreds in the Lockibie bombing,
he didn't kill hundreds when he supplied the IRA with arms and explosives over a period of years, he didn't train terrorists who have killed hundreds in other parts of the world .

Well shame on Tony Blair for having face to face meetings with Gadaffi a short while ago, it`s was disgusting for the last Government to arrange the freedom of the Lockerbie bomber Magrahi (under suspicious circumstances), even more disgusting for Tony Blair to contemplate the release of some IRA terrorists from prison as a sweetener for talks with the IRA, again just a short while ago.
The phrase glass houses and stones come to mind.

Also how do we know that the Libyan protesters being lead by Gadaffi`s ex Minister won`t be any better i.e. terrorist free!

Bloody Sunday sometimes called the Bogside Massacre was an incident on 30 January 1972 in the Bogside area of Derry,Northern Ireland, in which twenty-six unarmed civil rights protesters and bystanders were shot by soldiers of the British Army. The incident occurred during a Northern Ireland Civil Rights Association march; the soldiers involved were the First Battalion of the Parachute Regiment (1 Para). Thirteen males, seven of whom were teenagers, died immediately or soon after, while the death of another man four and a half months later has been attributed to the injuries he received on that day.

Two protesters were injured when they were run down by army vehicles.

Five of those wounded were shot in the back.
