I'm getting fed up of moving side to side and up and down to get the full picture. I had a virus on my laptop last week and the whole screen went very large, that problem is mostly cured but I am still bugged by this screen. Any suggestions please?

Is this on the internet? Do you use Firefox?

If so, press CTRL and 0 (zero) and it should reset itself.
How about a good hacksaw Gran? ; )

Yes .. If its the browser only .. use the View/Zoom in Firefox or IE.
You can also hold down Ctrl key in either and rotate the wheel (if you have one on your mouse) Al.

Hi I have IE but not firefox. the ctrl zero hasn't worked. It started when I had this virus thing at the weekend. I've still got the homepage for mywebsearch (whereas I usually have google homepage) can't get rid of it. I think it is to do with that. I'm trying to avoid an expensive visit from our local PC engineeer.
do you know what version of windows your running? If I click on a spanner shape on your web browser up top I can access drop down options that allows to reduce or zoom the page, have you got a spanner symbol, or does it say 'settings' or a picture of a cog?
This is a known problem if your screen resolution is set too low.

Right-click on your desktop. Click on 'Properties' and then select the 'Settings' tab. Move the 'Screen resolution' slider to the right (possibly all of the way; if you don't like the result you can easily change it). Click 'Apply' and 'OK'.

From the top menu open the View option then click on Full Screen and see what that does.

Hi thanks for the suggestions, not having much luck. I have Windows vistar (with a spanner on the top right of the screen.) I tried the screen resolution this afternoon it helped somewhat but not enough, low is too small but it then jumps to the middle mark which is what I'm on now. I'll have to try again tomorrow. Not sure what the top menu is scotman but thanks for the tip I'll try anything if I know what I'm looking at. I will have to let you know how it goes tomorrow evening.
well when I click once on the spanner I get a drop down menu and I chose the 'Zoom' option this lets me change the screen size, you need to zoom out

I've put the hacksaw away for now. I've altered the screen resolution again as suggested by Chris. It is a bit small but the bottom bar and the toolbar at the top now fits the screen and both the topic and 'latest posts' fit on the page now. Thanks to all for your suggestions. x
