Well - IE8 has been running fine until recently.

The problem is when I visit certain web sites I get the following message appear in a separate box: "Internet explorer cannot open the internet site http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk. Operation aborted"

Now the web page has loaded up - but when I click on OK on the box (which I have to do in order to continue), I now get the message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" and the page now goes blank as if I'm not connected to the internet.

The websites in question are fine as I downloaded firefox and they work fine with firefox. Plzz don't tell me to just carry on using firefox - I'm used to IE (plus I want the satisfaction of fixing it as well!!)

I tried uninstalling IE8. It uninstalled but I still had IE7 which I couldn't seem to find where to uninstall (maybe I didn't look hard enough??), then I re-installed IE8 ..... did it work ...... well I wouldn't be here asking for help if it did !!!

I know that the site works fine with IE8 (it works fine for other people) ...... there's obviouly something wrong with my IE.

Well I found the problem - I just need a solution now:

I tried disabling active scripting and one particular website in question loaded up fine and I could brouse around the webpage no probs. I then re-enabled active scripting and got the usual error.

Any suggestions plzzz ????

That link in my 1st post is wrong - there's a full stop at the end - the website I'm having problems with is http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/
Open IE go to tools and open it scroll down to Compatitability View Settings and open that .Check the box that says show all websites in compatability view and apply it .That should cure your problem.
