Ripping CDs

Hi
Just tried ripping a double Eagles CD that I bough yesterday, but my PC doesn't recognise it (says there is no CD in drive). Tried playig CD on alternative machine and is fine. Any other CD is ok on the PC as well - any ideas anybody ?? Could it be protected to prevent unlawful copying ?
