I've picked up a virus/trojan via a spam e mail. Now, about every 3 days, my PC sends a spam e mail to everyone in my address book. How do I get rid of the flaming thing??!! I've done 2 full Norton virus scans, 2 spyware/adware scans with superantispyware and deleted most of my saved e mails. I'm on AOL if it makes a difference (which it probably does!!).

Thanks

I'm on aol too and have been suffering from thisd problem for a while now. My husband died in February and his e mail address was sending lots of them, which was very distressing. The advice I got from AB was to go to "edit" and click on Clear Toolbar History. It worked for a while but they came back. I don't think it's an aol only problem though.
Same answer as always when this comes up...

Download malwarebytes on another computer and put the downloaded file on a memory stick, start the infected computer in safe mode with networking (you'll need to connect the computer using a Ethernet cable, wireless will not work) once the computer is started in safe mode install malwarebytes from the memory stick, let it update and then run a full scan and remove all it finds.
