Non-branded ink cartridges
Hi all
I have an Epson D92 inkjet printer. Now that the warranty has expired I have started using non-branded cartridges.
From local Cartridge World I bought a CYMKK multi-pack which has the brand name 'Computer Essentials' on it.
Cartridges fit OK, printing is OK and the printer monitoring screen shows the image of full cartridges.
By now I would have expected the monitoring screen to show a reducing level in the tanks especially the black. This has not happened yet.
Has anyone else seen this with Epson printers or can you recommend a brand that work exactly as per Epson's own cartridges?
thanks

I regularly purchase compatible cartridges for my Epson inkjet – I always ensure that they are claimed to be double capacity, having twice the ink of genuine Epson cartridges.
This may be the reason for the monitoring software still showing full cartridges, but it is more likely that the printer cannot determine the ink level (of the compatible cartridges).
I have experienced this problem on some compatible cartridges – such that the printer continues printing with an empty cartridge. Once the cartridge is replaced, all is well once more.
Not having an indication of remaining cartridge ink, is a small price to pay for the gain in money saved.
Given the cost savings of compatible cartridges versus the genuine article, my recommendation is use them from day one – if you need to make a claim on the product guarantee, stick the originals back in.

I've got a D68 and have never bought branded ink. Inkjets dirty little secret is they waste a lot of ink on purpose and you end up paying a fortune.
I Have never had a problem with compatible ink provided here, and they carry cartridges for the D92 http://www.internet-i...n-Ink-Cartridges-D92/
