well last time i had word i could write letters do envelopes open emails and print them everything really

Yes but Word is a commercial product, if you had it before it either came with the computer or you (or someone else) bought it. Open Office which you had suggested to you before will do letters, envelopes etc. Not sure what you mean about opening emails, that is normally done in some kind of email program such as Outlook, Windows mail or any of the other programs such as Thunderbird

thanks i didnt buy it, sorry what i meant was if i get for intance an application to down load via my email i can only do it through word or something attached to it, sorry i cant be more clear
