sp2 problem

Morning AB`s I have a problem with downloading windows SP2 whenever I download SP2 it makes my machine crash and I have to reset to a previous restore date my Specs are MS windows vista home 64bit sp1
amd phenom 8450 triple core processor, 4.00 gb ram and an nvidia geforce 9500gs. any help or ideas would be more than welcome.

Do you mean it crashes during downloading or installing?

Where are you downloading it from?

I know at least 5 people with the same problem. Have tried every solution offered by MS and it still won't work.
SP2 for Vista caused so many problems that eventually, MS offered free 'phone support for people experiencing problems. Unfortunately, I believe that offer expired yonks ago.

Thanks to VHG ( tried your download site but it crashed again ) thanks also to rojash my machine keeps offering critical download for SP2 do I just ignore it and hope it goes away ( some hope ) thanks one again

Firstly have you SP1 installed ? The Service Packs follow one another and this is a critical issue. I would before you try to install SP2 open the trouble shooting in control panel and run a repair on all of your existing updates to repair any that are faulty after that you should be able to install it.
