Download music remotely on demand

Open to suggestions here, but how is the best method to download an mp3 while away from home without using a laptop?

Would the best method perhaps be a good i-pod or are there better ideas?

I don't have an i-pad but can access the internet on my Noka c3 albeit rather complicated it would seem to download anything.

I'd like to be able to access a big music catalogue such as that of i-tunes or amazon and download mp3s and be able to play them whenever I want.

You have to have the Amazon Music Downloader (Saves as an .exe file to extract to your hard drive). Doubt your phone would be able to store it.
