Which method are you attempting to use?
The way that I'd do it would be this:
1. Select the relevant text. (Drag the mouse cursor across it or, if it's a paragraph, triple-click on it. If it's a URL in the address bar, simply right-click on it)
2. Right-click on the selected text. (Not required if it's a URL, 'cos it's already been done). Select 'Copy'.
3. Go to the location where the text is to be pasted, right-click and select 'Paste'.
If that doesn't work for you, where is it going wrong?

Chris, it's working now I think, I was right clicking on the web address, and then trying to highlight it afterwards, didn't realise that I didn't need to do that!........Oh I am silly!..........thank you!...........will give it a try again now!........let you know how it goes!..........don't hold your breath!.........I'll find a way to mess it up for sure......lol.............
Another (longer) way is to right click anywhere on the page, then click properties. You'll then get a box which give s alot of info about the page including the URL-eg http://www.theanswerb...09.html#postananswer.
Just highlight that URL then copy and paste it

One of the big problems with IE9 that I've seen is the address bar is very short, meaning you can't even see all of fairly short URLs.
You need to make sure you are selecting all of the URL, not just what you can see...
try double left clicking in the address bar and then (without moving the mouse) right clicking and selecting copy.
