Malicious add on
4 Answers
I keep getting a message that a malfunctioning or malicious add on is causing Internet Explorer to close the website to help protect my computer. When I pressed for further information, it said that Windows Data Execution Protection had detected an add on trying to use the system memory incorrectly. I'm not good with the technicalities of the computer so how do I sort this? Help please!!!Thanks. PS I have Windows 7.

The majority of the 'regulars', here in AB's Technology section, use Firefox:
http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
However Chrome has also got plenty of fans:

Hardly anyone uses Internet Explorer.
However, if you want to read what Microsoft says about your problem, please see here:

If you want to continue with IE then download and use IE9 which has a lot more security that should stop this as it catches before it can get this far. I use IE9 and have no problems. For the record Firefox is about to or already has changed the default search engine to Bing in a deal with Microsoft as their agreement with Google is about to expire and indications are it wont be renewed. This deal will see closer ties between the two.
