Microphone connection for Skype.

I can't find a microphone connection on my desk top PC (3 years old) for Skype.

The PC is a custom made job by an IT buff and is otherwise very good.

It is all set up and everything works except my contacts can't hear me.

I have new headphones with a mic. attached.

Can anyone help ?

Have you got a red 3.5 mm socket? if so it's that.

Postdog. No, only yellow and green plus 2 USBs.
