In his standard signature, a colleague at work has the field descriptors appearing, and these are highlighted in pink. (It says things like "(place)", "(name)" etc).

Tried everything and can't get rid of them...any ideas?

Thanks

Is the sig visible when he's actually typing an email, or is it appended after they send the mail?
Question Author
As soon as a new e-mail is displayed.
If it's in emails when they are being typed then it's got to be either a signature, or custom stationery, both of which are on tools > options > click on the mail format tab.

Make sure there is no signature set, and also make sure there is no stationery set.
I thought you were going to say it had a nice colourful icon at the bottom of mail ..
