Talktalk, my ISP, has sent me an email inviting me to download its award winning online security called Homesafe.

It says, "unlike other online security services it’s built into the network, which means it works on all devices connected to your TalkTalk Broadband. What's more, it works alongside your existing antivirus software to give you added protection".

It is definitely from TT as it is addressed to me by name. Has anybody else had such an email and has anybody actually taken up the offer? Thanks.

Thanks treetops, glad I asked, decision made.
Who exactly is 'hotlaptop'?
Never heard of them. Why do you believe that info is more reliable than Talk Talk?

Oh, I see the site is owned by Stephen Mainwaring. Who is he?

Any fool can set up a website (I have a couple of my own) but that doesn't give the info any credence.

Sorry, I know nothing of the TalkTalk offer, but I have at least heard of TalkTalk.

I based my decision on the Telegraph's article hc.
Don't touch it, just get Microsoft Security Essentials it is free/safe and it works !
I'm with TalkTalk and also got that e-mail today. I've ignored simply because I'm happy with Microsoft Security Essentials plus will leave TalkTalk when our contract runs out.
Ladybirder, I got the impression you was influenced by treeptops link which isn't to the Telegraph.
Question Author
hc at the bottom of treetops' link, after the article, the last person to post a comment gives a link to the Telegraph article.
