avg virus checker

i have avg  7.0  installed as my virus checker with all updates in place .i have scheduled it to scan every day at 7 am so i leave my computer in stand by overnight ,sometimes it scans ,sometimes it dosn't why is this?

its possible you may need to close down some or all programmes not in use,as when you de-frag.
