Problems with Chrome remembering stuff

I've just upgraded from Win XP to Win 7 and Chrome is behaving in an odd way

Many places where I click on "remember me" or "log me on next time", it seems Chrome is NOT remembering to do that

I've checked that cookies are enabled, which they seem to be, so what else might be wrong?

It's becoming VERY irritating
