Cleaning inside oven door which is double glass
Hi all. I have a Whirlpool electric oven and 2 very fluffy cats. You may wonder what the connection is ... well the oven door is made of two pieces of glass and I have noticed recently that there are a few little cat hairs that have got down the middle of the two glass pieces and I don't know how to clean it. The hairs haven't gone in the oven they are just stuck between the glass. I thought about hoovering it out but my husband told me I would be paying for a new oven if I did that as the glass would crack!! I have thought about a very thin bottle brush but that wont go inside. I really don't know what to do and it is starting to look awful. Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

I usually put a thick towel on the floor just in case of accidents but it is relatively easy to do and to put back. Mine isn't a Whirlpool one though so yours could be different.
I cant see that hoovering should cause the glass to crack. The problem is probably caused by the fact that the oven probably has a fan to blow air between the two sheets of glass to keep the outer glass below the permitted outer surface temperature. It should be possible to dismantle the door by undoing screws somewhere, thats how it was assembled in the first place, but you should be careful of any seals or gaskets which may have deteriorated over use and may break up on separating the glass panels. Otherwise it is just a matter of your (or OH) mechanical ability and dexterity to dismantle the door and re-assemble it.
