external hard drive problem help please chuck

hi got a laptop hard drive wich made into external hard drive with the help of a sata case.now it does work but i have made mistake of deleteing the partition volumes on the drive thinking it would create its own new one now the comp wont bring it up in my computer or anywere so i cant get onto the external drive.ive tried doing it through windows 7 cd but it says cant because its a usb device or somat unless im doing it wrong.s there any way i can get this going im sure im right in saying somehow i need to create a new partition but i have no idea how.the drive shows up in device manager so it does work but how can i get into the device and no were seems to let me .

You probably need Disk Manager to sort this. I don't know Win 7 so can't help more.

tried disc manager but it doesnt show up in there now either thats were i deleted the partition volumes like a wolly...anyone else no what i can do please

When you put the disk into the caddy what did you do with the jumper settings?

there no jumper on it so never did anything.my other works ok and that dont have jumper setting either or am i wrong

There are no jumpers on SATA drives....

Right click on the computer word on the start menu and select manage, then select disk management, from there you can right click on the drive (get the correct one!) and create a new partition on the drive, format it and you should be good to go.

the only one chuck i can see may be it is system reserved it says but when i right click it there nothing to say create new partition ...and it says only 100mb when should be 150gb so is that part of my desktop hard drive cos it uses so much for the graphics card ec...if so it is not showing up.trouble is i went in here and deleted my partition volumes all of them on external i think thats the issus does that make sence
