connecting pc to broadband windows vista chuck help

finally got my pc reformated and vista is back on i plugged my wifi usb network dongle in with picked up my broand put security code in wich is 100 per cent correct and went to connect but it just says it cant ive tried everything and it just wont connect to interent.my other pc on windows 7 works fine.i also had this problem with my dads and couldnt solve it..i just dont get why it is not connecting when it finds my router signal is superb i click connect and it wont connect says unable to connet...if you there chuck help begining to think vista is a knightmare

Have you previously used this wi-fi dongle with your wireless network?

yes mark i have ive also tried another usb wifi adapter and still wont connect i just reinstalled vista,it shows my router but when it connect it dont ..i just dont get it wich this is desk top tower.had same prob with my dads laptop also so im thinking it a vista issue...as never had this hasle when i use to install xp and windows 7 just connected always right away...but vista wich is first time ive had owt to do with it just be en a right pain

Have you re-installed the drivers?

yeh ive put the network usb card drivers on

I've seen this problem before and even on forums the help gets so far and then stops, as Micro$oft stopped supporting Vista a long time ago even they don't offer advice. In the end I had to re-install with XP (MS not supporting that either now).

I have just had to do the same myself with Vista. I took sometime, and had to use the driver DVD before it would find the router, as well as reinstall SP1 and SP2.

ok folks ive solved the problem even though my other pc in house and netbook was working fine on internet it turns out all i had to do was reset the router and internet cam right on.so i dont get why or how but hey it works so thats good enough for me.thanks for your help all
