My medion laptop has become very slow in the past week and now refuses to react to mouse or touch pad.It will not let me load a recovery disc or do any thing. Can it be the hard drive?I can change it HD if needed but as it is my standby laptop I don't want to spend big money only to find it's something else.thanks

Hi dont really know that much about computers but both my brotherinlaws brought medion computers from aldi and they both had a problem with them, they kept on backing up and running out off disc space
try clearing out all the "crap" on it use a free prog like "cc cleaner" then defrag the h/d then run a anti-malware prog ,again many free ones on here, and then run an anti virus prog
see if that makes it work,
maintenance is the key to keep things running
also uni-stall any programmes you dont need,
hard drives will stop responding quickly if you've filled it up to around 3/4 of the disc space
