Anti tracking programs

I just uopdated my free AVG and accepted the anti-tracking feature.

Now, when I open Google, Hotmail and other programs with targeted adverts, I get a popup box saying "Your profile could not be opened" and telling me to check it.

The programs then open OK, but without the adverts.

The popup is a minor irritation, but I like the idea that The Google empire isn't gettin git all its own way...

There's an article here. There are other programs that do this, I hadn't seen them before..

Do you use Google search at all?

Yes, it's a regular tool - also Gmail.

I'm getting some targeted ads on AB, interestinglly!

The popups are a nuisance - think I'll get shut of it...
