Webcam stops working

When I start Skype my image is displayed via the integrated webcam for a few moments and then stops. I used to work fine. Any ideas?

First check your webcam work properly on you tube. Test these.

Yes then you have to check the setting of your skype.
Sign in to skype.
In the menu bar click on tools then option
Under General select the video setting. If you have webcam connect you see your live picture, if webcam working correct.

Check you webcam setting in the Skype first and also see connection of webcam with CPU, if you are using desktop because sometimes, loose connection of wire is also responsible for this reason.

Thanks folks, but it must be a hardware problem. I tried installing YouCam and it can't find the webcame either.
