sound problem on pc

No audio on windows XP although playing from cd is fine but other inputs have no sound. Advice please

If you have a loudspeaker icon in the task bar double-click on it. This should bring up the audio input/output control.

You will need to follow such steps to fix sound issues
1) Ensure that sound drivers are properly installed or not to your computer
2) Ensure that your volume control setting by double clicking on the sound icon
3) By executing a system restore located on Stat menu => all programs => Accessories => system tools => system restore.
