I've just updated my iPad and now fiind I've lost googlemaps, the new apple maps don't have streetview, I really pee'd off. Is there any way to revert back to ios5. Many thanks for any answers.

Download the Google Earth app. That has google maps.
Or use google maps in the browser and bookmark it.
Rumour has it that Google will release a stand alone iOS Map ad, but it will probably contain a lot more advertising than you are used to.
Apple and Google signed a 5 year agreement in 2007 to embed Google search and Maps into iOS. That agreement has not been extended. People are assuming Apple kicked Google off, but there is no evidence of that. Google were paying a lot of money for the privilidge of being on every iOS device. Now that Android devices with Google maps and search are more previlent, Google may have decided not to pay Apple anymore. Also, a standalone search and map app can have more adverising (how Google makes its money) that it will not have to share with Apple. Or Google may not release a map app for iOS, and anyone who wants decent maps on their smartphone will buy a Android phone instead of an iPhone.
