Laptop

When switching on Laptop I put some pressure on the screen. I now have hundreds of multi coloured stripes up and down the screen. It is just like defragmenting the pc. Sorry for any spelling mistakes but I cannot see the screen properly. Help please I don't know what to do.
I know it should be in Technology but not much activity there.

Put it away somewhere and leave it alone for a bit, hopefully, when you start it up against he happy pixies will have fixed it.

Hi Methy, Its a Dell D430, out of warranty, but as I damaged it I couldn't claim anyway. I do not know what is damaged, every time I look at the damaged laptop the pattern of verticle stripes have changed.

this happens to my laptop too. i just wiggle the screen back and forth and it rights itself. my screens resolution keeps going to all sorts of settings too all by itself, keep having to adjust it. Very annoying

Just tried that Hollie, not done anything apart from making it worse! I will have to get a man in!! Annoying really as just getting used to new laptop. Using old one makes me remember why I bought a new one, infuriatingly slow
and keeps seizing up but must'nt grumble at least I have a backup of sorts.
