Hard drive transfer
My Windows XP is twelve years old and very cranky.
I have bought a laptop and wish to tranfer files over to it from the cranky PC.
The problem is that the PC has stopped turning on properly for me to access my files.
I have been to Class Olsen and in the computer dept, they have a
Guan May Docking station for 2.5" and 3.5" HDD. £45.00
You place the harddrive into the docking station to retrive the data.
Could this be my salvation?

You can get caddies or adaptors cheaper than the one I linked to that will do a single type and size of hard drive, but the one in my link will do 2.5 inch (Laptop) and 3.5 inch (Desktop) drives in both SATA and IDE so it's a useful bit of kit to have, I have one of them in my kit at all times.

Computer shops are usually happy to do a 'data transfer' for you. It's fairly cheap and you don't have to buy any kit you will only use once.
