I have an Acer aspire notebook which is only 8 months old but the keyboard is malfunctioning. When I am typing I look up and find that the cursor has jumped back and my words are going into the previous sentence.
It is very frustrating and I don't know what is causing this. Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated'
Is that in all programs or just one? Try typing in Word, Notepad and wordpad. If the same in all (and you're lifting your wrist properly) then take it back as you'll still be covered for warranty.
I presume you finish the previous sentence with an 'enter', not move your cursor down with a mouse or pad.
I think Hopkirk could be right. Another way to improve the situation is to buy a cheap netbook cooler (Poundland). Even if you don't plug it in to USB port to power the fan, when positioned under you Acer you will find that the keyboard is tilted towards you rather than being horizontal and this prevents you from inadvertently touching the mousepad while typing.
I've had one for a couple of years (fan still going strong!) and find it better to type with keyboard tilted rather than "flat".
Sorry for waiting so long to get back on this one but I use a wireless mouse with my notebook and I never touch the keyboard when typing. The problem occurs on every programme - e-mails, word, Facebook etc, has just happened when typing this and is driving me nuts!!
