How do I remove McAfee security?

I bought a Dell laptop with 1 month McAfee security on it.I want to install Kaspersky on it. The McAfee has expired.The Kaspersky wont install until I remove the McAfee. I have tried going to uninstall but it doesnt seem to work
On the menu it says size and the space is blank but i still cant install Kaspersky.Any help greatly appreciated

Sorry I can't help you but just to wish you luck esp if you have to talk to McAfee - hate to say you'll finish up at a call centre not in the USA and the guys I had to deal with were about as helpful as ..... good luck

But frankly, you are about to replace one piece of cr@p with a differnet piece of cr@p

You could try installing "Revo Uninstaller" and use that to remove it. I have got rid of a few unwanted programs using that.

I agree with rojash.

However, I hope you are able to completely uninstall that dreaded McAfee and instead of Kaspersky (unless you have already bought the programme) I would suggest you get a free download of Microsoft Security Essentials.

Thanks for your help.I have now removed McAfee and installed Kaspersky.I have used Kaspersky for a couple of years and trust it.I am not 'computer wise' as much as i would like to be and am not confident about what i can safely download and what i cant so prefer to buy something I know and trust.I knew someone on here would help me.Thanks very much.
